These genderless workwear inspired day/nightshirt dresses are the embodiment of dopamine dressing, and are guaranteed to spark joy. We like to say these are 'designed, not designer' by which we mean the price reflects the quality and attention to detail, as described below. The result of which is that 90% of our customers wear our garments as daywear, attracting attention + compliments, and making new friends wherever they go.
Our GOTS certified organic cotton loose-fitting over-head nightshirt features a 2 button placket, signature rounded collar, generous side vents for ease of movement and generous side pockets. Tailored using twin needle stitching for durability.
Bold, outsized patterns, irregularly brilliant colour combinations, and garments built to last are our thing, and they are all designed here in Glasgow by Royal College of Art graduate Mil Stricevic.
The ornamental forms drifting across our BARBARIAN print hint at Paisley (another staple sleepwear textile pattern) with a dash of outsize botanicals, but are actually based on the letter Z - a recurring theme in the Irregular Sleep Pattern world. Barbarian is named in homage to the epic opening track from our favourite Joan as Policewoman’s collaborative 2021 album with Tony Allen & Dave Okumu: The Solution is Restless.

Returns
- Size exchanges within the UK are free of charge. Please head to our returns portal. Returns will incur a £4 fee which will be deducted from your refund.
- You have 28 days from receipt of goods to return your garment(s) to us. Items should be returned new, unused, FOLDED and with all tags attached and in original packaging.
- If you are overseas please be aware that returning a garment will be very expensive, and we don’t cover the cost of sending out a replacement in the case of exchange, so please check in with us on sizing before you make your purchase!
- If there is a fault with your garment, please get in touch and we will resolve the issue.

This is the second purchase from irregular sleep - am in love with the nightshirts! Fabulous quality and design! Needless to say, like many other reviewers, it's not being worn at night!
So I’ve now got one in every colour they’re that good . It’s made all my other bed wear obsolete. They’re stylish , they’re comfortable and practical . Everyone should have this is their wardrobe. Especially cause you can wear them out too.
LOVE this nightshirt! The colours, the pattern, the fit, the shape, the stitching, THE POCKETS. All is perfection. Excellent for exhibition openings, dog walks, playing with clay and obviously, sleeping.
Never mind bed time this shirt ticks all the boxes. Crisp, Snazzy, Spicy- beautifully designed +made .
Washes dreamily.

We use custom sizing. Find the nightshirt size that works for you by referencing our detailed size chart. If you have a tape measure this is the most accurate method.
***NB. Mono + Tricolor styles are end of line + reduced because they use an older grading (size increments) and have a different size chart - we recomend sizing DOWN one size in these eg Jolene wears the size 1 nightshirt in barbarian / sidewinder / chameleon but the size 0 in mono + tricolor***
The popover nightshirt is based on our classic nightshirt jacket, and shares the same chest and sleeve measurements before flaring out in a comfortably loose-fitting A line shape, with generous side pockets and split seams for ease of movement.
